Solving the problems that exist in public hospitals is the primary goal of the health ministry, said Minister Michalis Damianos on Thursday.

Damianos made these remarks from Famagusta General, part of his visits to “various nursing centres” in Cyprus to better understand the problems plaguing the country’s healthcare institutions.

During his visit, the minister stated: “Problems will always exist, our goal is to solve problems where we can and in the most efficient way.”

However, he also said that “no specific reports will be made” about any potential issues at the hospital.

The minister also fielded questions about public health concerns. When asked whether the ministry is concerned about community viruses he replied that, “There is nothing to worry about at this time, there is nothing to say.”
