A fire broke out in Tseri, Nicosia on Wednesday, with four aircraft working to extinguish it, the fire services said.
Fire services spokesman Andreas Kettis said the blaze burned wild brush and that there are constant flare-ups.
There were also seven trucks working to put out the fire he said.
Five were from the fire department, one from the forestry department, and one from the game fund.
Kettis added that there are also volunteers at the scene helping to put out the blaze.
Later in the day, Kettis said the fire was extinguished about an hour after it broke out. Trucks he added would remain in the area to deal with any possible flare-ups.
The fire burned around one square kilometre of land.
