Outdoor cinema nights and the summer season go hand-in-hand and this year, Cyprus’ cinephiles have had plenty to enjoy. From film and documentary festivals to independent film screenings around the island, there has been a film to enjoy somewhere all summer long. This August, Ayia Napa Marina teams up with Starlit Screens to offer a series of outdoor cinema nights.
Until the beginning of September, almost daily film screenings will be held at the marina. On August 18, 22 to 25 and 29 to September 1, a series of beloved films from the international cinema world will be screened and cinephiles can reserve their spot for a summer cinema night at www.starlitscreens.com.
This Sunday, the film The French Dispatch will be screened at Ayia Napa Marina followed by the all-time favourite film Eat, Pray, Love on August 22. On the following evening, the Marina’s Events Centre where all of the screenings take place will present another epic film, Bohemian Rapsody.
On August 24, Before Sunrise will be screened followed by the Disney animation Coco on August 25. On August 29, Starlit Screens will present War Dogs and on August 30, the classic Dead Poets Society. The month’s last film screening is the beloved comedy My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, presented on August 31. Finally, Toy Story 1 will be featured on September 1.
For those not in Ayia Napa, fear not. The same movies will be screened on the same days at the Starlit Screens locations in Ayios Tychonas, Limassol as well so movie-goers can select the location they want to attend when buying their ticket online. Happy viewing!
