A brand-new festival is approaching with the aim of creating a platform for different voices and stories to be heard. Changing up the narrative, this festival will not spotlight speakers and presenters but everyday people with a story to share. Paving the way for a community that gets inspired and connected from within, the 1st Larnaka StoryFest will be realised this autumn.
The festival will be held on November 17 at the Larnaca Municipal Market between 11am and 3pm. Organised by Innoeusphere, in collaboration with Oxygen for Democracy, the one-day festival aims to create a space where ordinary people can share their stories and ideas, encouraging communication and collaboration between citizens. With a looser structure at hand – meaning that the event won’t feature solely professional presenters or speakers – the floor will be open to the public.
Networking sessions and dialogue will be at the core of the festival, paving the way for future collaborations and professional opportunities. Through this, the festival hopes to create opportunities to exchange ideas and brainstorm the possibility of developing new initiatives and events.
“Larnaka StoryFest will become an institution where every unique human journey can be shared,” say organisers, “inspiring and empowering community members to draw on their own experiences and create new, rich narratives.”
