Aeronautical exercise ‘Eunomia 5 – 2024’ kicks off on Thursday, with nautical and air manoeuvres, testing maritime interdiction, cyber, air and marine warfare and search, rescue and evacuation operations.

The manoeuvres are being held for the fifth consecutive year in the framework of the Cyprus, Greece, France and Italy initiative, aimed at enhancing security and stability in the broader region and securing free navigation.

The exercise, coordinated by Greece, will be held in the eastern Mediterranean Sea and air space, from September 12 to 18.

The purpose is to improve mutual understanding and operational interoperability between the participating aeronautical forces.

The defence ministry said the cooperation of the four countries indicates the collective intention and commitment to implement the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea and international law.
