Two people were arrested in for throwing flares before the Anorthosis-Omonia football match, police said on Sunday.
The match, held on Saturday night, was at the Antonis Papadopoulos stadium in Larnaca.
This is the second incident of violence at a football match in recent days, following violent clashes between police and Ael fans at the Alphamega stadium in Limassol last week.
Police said: “During the incident, two arrests were made. In particular, a 14.5-year-old boy was arrested, in whose possession a firecracker was found, and a 16.5-year-old boy, in whose possession another firecracker was found, along with ten factory firecrackers and a laser.”
The two suspects, “residents of Larnaca, were taken to the Larnaca CID where they were interrogated and charged in writing, and then released to be summoned before the court”.
