A chance to meet the bestselling author of The Silent Patient, Alex Michaelides, is coming up next week as Dioptra Publications and Soloneion Book Centre organise a special event on October 9 at Kastelliotissa Hall.

The author of The Maidens, and The Fury (though best known for his thriller novel mentioned above) will meet with literature enthusiasts and fans following a conversation with Tasos Tryfonos at 7pm. A Q&A session with the audience will follow, along with a book signing as the author presents his newest book.

Introducing the author – although he is perhaps well-known among Cyprus’ book lovers – the organisers say: “Alex Michaelides was born and raised in Cyprus. He holds a Master’s in English Literature from Trinity College, Cambridge University, and a Master’s in Screenwriting from the American Film Institute in Los Angeles. His debut novel, The Silent Patient, reached #1 on The New York Times bestseller list and has sold more than 7.5 million copies worldwide. The rights have been sold to 52 countries, and the book is set to become a film produced by Plan B. His second novel, The Maidens, was also a New York Times and Sunday Times bestseller and is being adapted for television by Miramax Television and Stone Village.”
