The highest interest rate on term deposits of up to one year by households in August 2024 stood at 2.45 per cent while the highest interest rate on loans for the purchase of a house was at 4.96 per cent, figures released Monday by the Cyprus Central Bank show.
The highest interest rate on deposits with a term of up to one year for new projects from eurozone households was offered by the National Bank of Greece (Cyprus) at 2.45 per cent and the lowest by Hellenic Bank at 1.36 per cent, while the highest deposit rate for companies was offered by Hellenic Bank at 2.83 per cent.
The highest interest rate on loans (floating) for the purchase of housing to households and with an initial determination period of up to one year (new contracts) was held by the Cyprus Development Bank at 4.96 per cent, followed by Eurobank Cyprus 4.65 per cent and Astrobank 4.60 per cent, while the lowest interest rate for household loans was offered by the Housing Finance Corporation at 3.02 per cent.
The highest rate of loans (floating) to companies up to €1 million and an initial determination period of up to one year (new contracts) was offered by Banque SBA at 8.05 per cent, followed by Societe Generale Bank Cyprus at 6.84 per cent.
