An exhibition on space weather organised by Frederick University opens in Nicosia in collaboration with the European Space Agency. It is an educational exhibition which explores the secrets of space weather, including solar flares and the breathtaking aurora lights.
Through audio-visual installations, graphics, interactive exhibits and a screening of the award-winning documentary Northern Lights – a Magic Experience, visitors can learn how these phenomena impact technological systems such as satellites, power grids, and aviation, as well as biological systems on the planet.
The exhibition is hosted at Frederick University’s Stathmos Multipurpose Space and is open to the public every Saturday in November, from 3.30pm to 5.30pm. Scheduled free tours for organised groups (in Greek or English) will take place at 3.30pm and 4.30pm, led by Dr Christina Economou and advanced booking is required here.
The Sun and Us exhibition is part of Frederick University’s collaboration with the European Space Agency, and its content is based on research conducted by Frederick University’s Ionosphere and Space Weather Research Group, led by Dr Charis Charalambous.
