Turkish Cypriot trade union for nurses and midwives KTHES on Saturday threatened to take action if the ‘health minister’ and his team did not resign over the death of an infant from ingesting ethanol.

KTHES said that, despite repeated pleas, there has been no resignation and spoke of the absence of fair and transparent administration, Yeni Duzen newspaper reported.

The trade union said the ‘health minister’ was targeting nurses and not undertaking his own responsibilities, in an effort to transfer the blame to them through behind-the-scenes talks with his team.

KTHES called for the resignation of the ‘health minister’, for the public to hear the truth and for justice to be restored.
