A UK Cypriot woman has been stabbed to death in her London home as an NHS carer has been arrested on suspicion of killing her.

Efthyia Constantinou, 62, hired Zaneta Peto, 55 to look after her elderly parents, the Old Bailey heard.

But court heard that Peto stabbed Constantinou multiple times, while the victim’s mother was allegedly screaming in the background.

The incident unfolded at Constantinou’s home on October 31.

Peto has been charged with Constantinou’s murder, and will remain in custody ahead of a plea hearing on January 31, 2025.
