A total of 745 students in need received ‘love packages’ on Monday, containing festive entertainment and Christmas treats.

The packages were handed over to the school headmasters by Nicosia mayor Charalambos Prountzos, municipal council members, Vali Amusements Ltd, trade union Peo and volunteer organisation ‘Angaliazo me Agapi’ (I embrace with love).

Each package contains tickets to Nicosia’s Christmas fair, invitations to children’s events and shows, vouchers for Christmas presents, savoury and sweet treats, as well as food items.

The children’s gifts and food packages will be given to families at an event in Ayios Dhometios.

Prountzos thanked the contributors for supporting vulnerable groups with the ‘love packages’ and said the municipality alone could not cover all the children’s needs.
