The presidential palace will transform into a festive Christmas village on December 14-15, offering a weekend of holiday cheer and community engagement. The event will take place in the palace’s small theatre and surrounding areas from 11.00am to 6.00pm.
First lady Philippa Karsera Christodoulides spearheaded the initiative in collaboration with the deputy ministry of tourism and the press and information office (PIO) to create a unique Christmas destination at the Presidential Palace.
The Christmas village will feature kiosks showcasing local products, including jewellery, organic goods, ceramics and decorations. The event aims to highlight Cypriot handicrafts, providing visitors an opportunity to meet local producers and creators while supporting small businesses.
A variety of activities are planned to enhance the festive atmosphere. Children will have the chance to meet Santa Claus and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, while a Christmas film produced by the PIO will be screened on-site.
To ensure a smooth experience for visitors, attendees are encouraged to use the parking facilities at the nearby English School, from where buses will shuttle them to the palace.
Part of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Radiomarathon foundation.
