A 38-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday in Nicosia, after a 42-year-old woman reported that someone had broken into storage facilities at a block of flats in Nicosia and stolen various items, including a suitcase.

Police investigations led to the 38-year-old, who was found with a suitcase matching the description of the one reported stolen.

The man did not give adequate explanations and was arrested for the illegal possession of property.

A travel bag with silverware, a bag of food, a toolbox, handbags of various brands and other items were found near the suspect.

All items were identified by the 42-year-old as part of the property stolen.

A plastic bag with drugs was also found.

The suspect will be taken before a court on Thursday for a remand order.
