The police have arrested a 31-year-old man in connection with a robbery and theft of €100,000 that occurred on Tuesday afternoon in Limassol. A second suspect is still at large.

The incident was reported by a 32-year-old man, who said that he had arranged a meeting yesterday afternoon with two individuals for the purpose of purchasing cryptocurrency.

“While in his vehicle to finalise the transaction, one of the two individuals struck him on the head and grabbed a shoulder bag containing the aforementioned amount of money before fleeing in an unknown direction,” the police reported.

The second individual was restrained by the complainant until police arrived, leading to his arrest.

Efforts to locate and arrest the second suspect are ongoing.
