With excitement and enthusiasm, the Ronald McDonald House in Cyprus (RMHC Cyprus) launched its new ‘RMHC Hospitality Cart’ programme, also known as ‘Hugs on Wheels’. The programme was launched at Makarios Hospital, granting moments of care and optimism to patients and their families.

More specifically, on December 10, 2024, the ‘Hugs on Wheels’ team, accompanied by volunteer musicians and smiling mascots, passed through every ward, filling the corridors with Christmas melodies, as well as the fragrance of freshly-baked cake and a sense of hope. Patients, their relatives and friends enjoyed a festive coffee, refreshments and sweets, proving that, even in the most difficult times, simple and selfless gestures of love can change everything.

RMHC Cyprus expresses its sincere thanks to all those who supported this initiative, especially to the volunteers, partners and companies – the TBWA\Entelia team, SPCA High-Tech Security Centre Ltd and PRINTOUT – who undertook to cover the costs and contributed with generosity and dedication.

The ‘RMHC Hospitality Cart’, inspired by the international ‘Ronald McDonald Hospitality a la Carte’ programme, was designed to support families coping with the hospitalisation of loved ones. Through this initiative, good food and beverages provide small moments of joy and comfort to patients and their families. Companies wishing to strengthen their Corporate Social Responsibility may participate by filling the ‘Hugs on Wheels’ cart with products made with love.
