Limassol is set to welcome Kirill Richter and the Richter Trio this January presenting the Towards the Beloved City programme. This waltz cycle, which has only been performed in its entirety in London and Switzerland, will now be performed for the Cypriot public. On January 17, the musicians will step onto the stage of Pattihio Theatre to perform in front of a Limassol audience.

The programme is said to be a musical reflection on love and the search for inner harmony. “My music is a soundtrack of life,” says Richter. “The stories I tell through music somehow resonate in other lives, creating the feeling that we all speak the same language.”

The concert will begin at 8pm and it promises to be a special musical event that encourages listeners to reflect on their feelings and experiences.

On the same afternoon, Limassol audiences will have the opportunity to enjoy one more classical music performance. The Cyprus Symphony Orchestra will host a family concert at 6pm bringing to life the melodies of the renowned film The Sound of Music. Filling Rialto Theatre with the musical’s most beloved songs and compositions that chronicle the adventures of the von Trapp family and Maria, the evening will be special for old and young listeners.

Joining the orchestra will be singer Aliki Chrysochou who will narrate the story and perform songs, under the baton of conductor Alkis Baltas and the orchestration of pianist Vicky Stylianou.
