Hellenic Bank on Thursday announced that its annual HB EmPOWERment Talks initiative successfully concluded for the second consecutive year.

The bank explained that this series of talks aims to support the personal development of Hellenic Bank staff, “aligning with the desired culture and priorities of the organisation”.

In addition, the series is designed to “keep employees informed on current topics, stimulate reflection, and introduce them to new knowledge”.

The announcement mentioned that this initiative began in 2023 during “Staff Appreciation Week” with three virtual talks that received enthusiastic feedback from Hellenic Bank employees.

Since then, the HB EmPOWERment Talks have become a monthly event for the bank.

According to the statmeent, participation reached 1,868 attendees in 2024. The latest edition sought to promote “inclusivity through virtual sessions that covered a wide range of personal and professional development topics for employees across all districts”.

The bank added that throughout the year, “ten distinguished speakers shared their stories, life achievements, and practical advice”.

The series opened with Avgi Savvidou, who discussed the importance of strong foundations and the essence of life.

Nicoletta Michaelidou and Vicky Charalambous followed with presentations on “Proper Nutrition and Exercise for a More Energetic Day” and “10+1 Habits of Happy People,” respectively.

Loizos Loizou and Polly Grigora explored mental health from both scientific and practical perspectives as part of the bank’s new initiative, ‘Wellbeing Wonder Movement.’

Constantina Nicolaou, a world champion shooter, shared advice on mental resilience based on her personal experiences.

Meanwhile, Riana Constantinou, head of ambulance services, reflected on how individuals can drive meaningful change, drawing examples from her daily challenges in leading the ambulance services directorate.

Elsewhere, Christiana Ierodiakonou used storytelling to explore the themes of diversity and inclusion.

Panayiota Themistocleous highlighted the magic of sign language, speaking simultaneously in two languages to mark International Sign Language Day.

Finally, Cypriot Paralympic powerlifter Maria Markou concluded the series with an inspiring talk on having the courage to pursue one’s dreams.

“Her presentation was given to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities and as part of efforts to promote diversity, inclusion, and equity in the workplace,” the bank said.

“Looking ahead to 2025, the HB EmPOWERment Talks will be enriched by the new HB EmPOWERed Colleagues series,” the bank added.

“Through this addition”, the announcement continued, “Hellenic Bank employees will share personal experiences and knowledge on topics of common interest”.

“Committed to lifelong learning, Hellenic Bank continues to provide its people with tools and knowledge for personal growth and the enhancement of interpersonal skills through this initiative,” the bank concluded.
