An off-duty policeman caught two men red-handed on Sunday loading a stolen water heating solar panel into a car.
The incident happened at 9.15pm on Sunday.
A Polemidia police officer was driving his private car in Andokidou street in Yermasogia when he noticed two men loading the solar panel into a rented car boot.
The policeman, who was still in uniform, followed the car to a nearby field, where he approached the two men and asked for their details.
He then called Limassol police for backup and the men, aged 46 and 34, residents of Limassol, were arrested at 8pm.
Police searched their car at 9.40pm and found various tools, including a hammer, saw, wrench and pliers, a torch and cutters.
Limassol police are investigating.
