A special police officer already in custody was rearrested on Monday in connection with a second corruption case.
Nicosia district court renewed the officers’ remand order for a further four days on Monday.
In a statement, the police leadership said it was dedicated to putting an end to corruption within the force.
“Such behaviours are condemnable and unacceptable and wherever found they will be addressed with zero tolerance,” it added.
On January 8, the special police officer was arrested for corruption, misuse of power and bribery.
A second policeman had been arrested for intervening in a judicial proceeding, threats, assault, causing grievous bodily harm and stalking.
In the case of the special policeman, a foreigner had reported that the officer had stopped him on two occasions, telling him to hand over any money he had on him.
The foreigner reported him, but he was initially not believed.
After checking local CCTV footage, the special police officer was arrested.
