In the presence of Ministers, government officials, senior officials and media representatives, the event launched a celebration of 80 years of contribution to Cypriot society, the economy and people’s lives. A highlight of the event was the announcement that the iconic “Charalambides” signature on Fresh Cypriot Milk would return, in tribute to the trust and love connecting the Company with its consumers.
Within the context of the 80th anniversary, a special event was also held at the premises of Charalambides Christis, with the symbolic participation of 80 employees of the company.
A journey of 80 years
The Company’s journey began modestly – relying on a cow in the backyard of the Charalambides family – yet evolved into the largest, longest-lasting dairy company in the country. Today, Charalambides Christis is a leader in food production and distribution, as well as a prominent exporter, bringing Cypriot products to international markets.
The historical journey of the Company was presented through an impressive retrospective, which, utilising unpublished archival material, brought memories to life and honoured the people who had contributed to the legacy. As part of the event, the 80th anniversary logo was presented alongside the logo of the iconic “Charalambides” signature on Fresh Cypriot Milk.

A symbol of quality and social contribution
On behalf of the President of the Republic of Cyprus, the event was welcomed by Minister of Energy, Trade and Industry George Papanastasiou, who referred to Charalambides Christis’ long-standing contribution, as the Company “that has become synonymous with quality, tradition and authentic flavours that accompany the everyday life of Cypriots, becoming a pillar of the Cypriot food industry and enhancing its international competitiveness”.
Thanking Charalambides Christis for the invitation to celebrate 80 years of the Company’s success, and wishing its staff and management the best, Minister Papanastasiou assured the island’s business community that the government is and will remain at its side.
Thereafter, Charalambides Christis CEO Marios Constantinou, described the anniversary celebration as historic, stressing with pride that “today, we celebrate the extended family of Charalambides Christis: our people, our human capital, who, with passion, diligence and dedication, have preserved and keep alive the valuable heritage of the company”.
