Neapolis University Paphos (NUP) is proud to announce the establishment of the NUP Human Rights Observatory, a scientific body dedicated to the monitoring, analysis and defence of human rights in Cyprus and the European Union.
The NUP Human Rights Observatory will operate as a documentation and research centre, focusing on the systematic evaluation of legislation, jurisprudence and applied policies. At the same time, it will seek to improve the institutional framework in response to contemporary challenges and developments.
The main lines of action of the Observatory include the systematic monitoring of developments in the field of human rights, the analysis and evaluation of national and European regulations, the strengthening of interdisciplinary research through cooperation with academic and research centres, as well as the promotion of public dialogue, enhancing the participation of civil society in the formulation of human rights policies.
Through this initiative, Neapolis University Paphos confirms its long-standing commitment to the defence of human rights, offering scientifically-based proposals and interventions that strengthen the rule of law and democracy.
