Police said on Thursday they are investigating the case of a 71-year-old man who is in a critical condition after his electric scooter collided with another vehicle.

The accident happened on Tuesday, with the matter reported to the police the following day.

An acquaintance of the 71-year-old went to police to report the incident.

According to the testimony, the elderly man was riding his scooter in a parking space in Nicosia, when he was struck by a vehicle driven by a 56-year-old woman.

The elderly man was rushed to Nicosia general hospital. He is currently intubated in ICU.
