Cold air mass Coral continues to bring icy conditions across the island on Monday. Partial clouds in the morning will give way to clear skies by noon, with temperature reaching 10C inland, 12C on the coast, and 0C in the higher mountains. Frost prevails in the mountains and locally in semi-mountainous regions. Winds will be mainly northerly to north-easterly, weak to moderate, up to 4 Beaufort, and locally up to strong, 5 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough.

Overnight will be icy and clear, with temperature dropping to 0C inland, 2C on the coast, and -8C in the higher mountains. Frost will persist at higher elevations and locally in the lowlands. Winds will be north-westerly to north-easterly, weak, up to 3 Beaufort, and the sea will continue calm to slightly rough.

Tuesday will be cloudy and on Wednesday mainly cloudy, with isolated rains expected in the afternoon, mainly in the west, and snowfall in the mountains. Isolated rains or snowfall in the mountains are also forecast for Thursday.

Temperatures will gradually rise by Thursday to hover close to seasonal norms. The depth of snow in Chionistra, at 5am, was 5cm.

The roads Kalopanagiotis – Moutoullas, Pedoulas – Prodromos, Prodromos – Lemithou, Kakopetria – Pinewood – Pedoulas, Kakopetria – Karvounas and Kykkos – Pedoulas – Kampos, are open only to vehicles with four-wheel drive or snow chains.

Police urged caution on all roads Troodos and other mountain areas as they may be hazardous due to icy conditions. There are no particular problems in urban areas and on the highway.
