Thursday will see increased clouds and a chance of rains on the north coast and the mountains, while the weather will gradually turn to overcast in some areas. On the higher peaks of Troodos, light snow may fall. Temperatures will rise to 17C inland and on the coast, and 6C degrees in the higher mountains. Winds will start off variable and weak, 3 Beaufort, gradually turning mainly south- to north-westerly and locally variable, of the same intensity. The sea will be calm to slightly rough.
Overnight will be mainly clear with the western half of the island turning to overcast with isolated rains expected. Frost will form in the mountains and in leeward lowland areas. Temperatures will drop to 4C inland, 6C on the south and east coasts, 8C on the west and north coasts, and around 0C in the higher mountains. Winds will be downslope and weak, 3 Beaufort. The sea will remain calm to slightly rough.
Friday is forecast to be mainly cloudy with local rains and isolated storms with a chance of hail. Snowfall is expected on the higher peaks of Troodos.
Into the weekend Saturday is expected to bring clouds and further rains and on Sunday localised afternoon and mountain rains are forecast.
Temperatures are expected to rise by Sunday to slightly above the seasonal norm. The depth of snow in Chionistra, at 5am, was 2cm.
