A 59-year-old man is in critical condition at Nicosia general hospital after a car accident on Friday, police said on Saturday.

Nicosia traffic police are investigating the circumstances behind the accident which took place at the roundabout at Spyrou Kyprianou and Kalamon, on the road linking to the Strovolos highway.

The 59-year-old was driving a motorbike and crashed with a vehicle that a 61-year-old man was driving at around 8am on Friday.

He was transferred to Nicosia general hospital where he is being treated at the intensive care unit in critical condition.
