The SESAM Identity 2.0 Expo Day this weekend is the accumulation of a 10-day architecture residency event that is wrapping up on Sunday. The Nicosia event is taking place from 2pm to 7pm and is a free, open to the public event.
During the event, the final results of the workshops will be showcased in various locations around the walled city of Nicosia. Visitors can start their journey at Melina Mercouri Municipal Hall, which will serve as the info point for the day. This will be an excellent opportunity to explore the pavilions and urban art installations created by 140 architecture students and young professionals from across Europe, all centred around the theme of Identity.
Visitors will also be able to chat with the artists and designers about their work and ideas as well as join a special bike ride facilitated by Organisation for Positive Urbanism (OPU) from 3pm to 4.30pm. The bike ride will set off from Melina Mercouri to re-explore the city on two wheels through temporary public interventions.
Need more reasons to join the day event? The organising team has the answers. “Nicosia is a city full of history and stories,” it says. “Between March 1 and 9, SESAM Identity 2.0 has been trying to turn these stories into creative projects that will make you see the city in a new way. Whether you’re a local, a student, or just curious, the Expo Day on March 9 is a great way to experience something new and exciting!”
