Cyprus and Croatia signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the field of education on Monday, Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos said on an official visit there.

Kombos said he had a “productive meeting” with Croatian Minister of Science, Education and Youth Radovan Fuchs, which marked the start of his official visit.

The minister had arrived earlier at the invitation of the Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman.

The two are to hold meetings and consultations on the Cyprus issue in Zagreb, according to an official announcement. In addition, the two ministers will discuss strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries, issues on the European agenda, and developments in the Middle East and in Ukraine.

Kombos will have a private meeting with his counterpart, followed by expanded consultations with the participation of delegations from the two ministries.

Kombos will also be received by Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković.

The foreign minister will also deliver a speech at the Diplomatic Academy of the Croatian foreign and European affairs ministry.
