Greek retail chain Jumbo Group on Tuesday reported a significant increase in store sales across Cyprus and Greece for February 2025.
Specifically, the company announced that it achieved a 27 per cent rise in sales in its Cyprus stores compared to the same month last year.
This growth is part of a broader trend that saw sales for the first two months of the year climb by 16 per cent compared to the previous year in Cyprus.
In Greece, the parent company’s net sales, excluding intercompany transactions, mirrored this positive trajectory with a 26 per cent increase in February 2025 alone.
Furthermore, the sales growth for the first two months of the year extended to 21 per cent, underlining a robust start to the year.
Significantly, the carnival season, celebrated earlier this year on March 2 compared to March 17 last year, contributed greatly to these figures.
This shift in timing led to a notable spike in February sales in both Greece and Cyprus, which is reflected in the group’s overall monthly sales jump of 19 per cent.
Overall, the first two months saw a 15 per cent increase in group sales.
Despite this primising start, Jumbo group’s management is urging a cautious approach for the remainder of the year.
The management explained that “the impressive start, influenced by seasonal festivities and an unpredictable global environment, makes it tricky to predict the full year’s performance.”
