Cyprus’ delegation to the World Winter Special Olympics came back with six medals, an announcement said on Sunday.
According to the Cyprus Special Olympics Federation, the efforts of the six athletes at the World Special Olympics Winter Games, Torino 2025, were successfully completed on Saturday.
The events in which they participated were held, from March 10-15, on the tracks of Sestriere and Pragelato.
In Snowshoeing, the Cypriot athletes won 2 gold and 3 silver medals and in Cross Country Ski, 1 gold medal.
The tally for the Cypriot delegation is 3 gold and 3 silver medals.
According to the Cyprus Special Olympics Federation, “it was a unique experience for the Cypriot athletes, which they enjoyed to the fullest”.
It added that apart from the joy of participation and the conscious effort to achieve the best possible result, they had the opportunity to meet people, socialize, make new friends and generally gain experiences that will accompany them for life.
