Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan will participate in the informal expanded format meeting on Cyprus to be held in Geneva tomorrow and March 18, Turkish Foreign Ministry sources quoted by the Turkish Anadolu News Agency said.
The same sources told Anadolu that “the meeting, which is scheduled to exchange views on the future period in the Cyprus problem, is in no way a continuation of previous negotiation processes or the start of a new negotiation process.”
Anadolu reported that the parties will be represented at the meeting, which will be held under the auspices of UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, by Turkish Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar, Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis and UK Foreign Secretary for Europe and North America Stephen Doughty.
Anadolu recalled that Hakan Fidan last visited the north on January 8-9 and met with Ersin Tatar and ‘Prime Minister’ Unal Ustel.
