The beloved tale of Cinderella, her lost shoe and evil sisters, will appear on the stage of the Nicosia Municipal Theatre reimagined by the Dance Studio – Annita Hatjieftychiou. Not only will the performance depict a new rendition of the fairy tale but it will also raise funds for the Ayios Lucas Community.

“With open arms, we invite children and adults on the autism spectrum, as well as individuals with other disabilities, to attend our performance with one companion completely free of charge,” the dance school says. “We are excited once again to dance together on stage at the end of the performance, sharing the applause and sending a strong message of acceptance and inclusion. Financial support is important, but just as crucial is raising awareness about the challenges faced by people with disabilities and their families. This is exactly what we aim to achieve through our performance!”

Choreographer Hatjieftychiou has reimagined the classic tale of Cinderella, touching on sensitive issues such as bullying, prejudice, vanity, materialism and greed. At the same time, the story highlights timeless values that seem to be fading away, such as empathy, kindness, selflessness and compassion.

Through original choreography blending ballet, contemporary dance, hip hop, locking, and other street dance styles, Annita and her team of dance instructors will transport audiences to a magical yet deeply relatable world. The roles are performed by students of all ages, from 3 to 50 years old, along with professional dancers.
