Five people were freed from their vehicles by the fire department following separate traffic collisions in Nicosia and Limassol.
According to fire department spokesman Andreas Kettis, the Nicosia fire station sent out a rescue team at 11.19pm on Monday following a crash in Lakatamia.
“A vehicle veered off course, crashed into an EAC utility pole and overturned. Two people were extricated using rescue tools and handed over to the ambulance service for treatment and transport to the emergency department,” he stated.
In Limassol, at 9.38pm, the fire department responded with a fire truck to extinguish a motorcycle fire of unknown origin. The motorcycle sustained extensive damage.
Later, at 1.55am, the Limassol fire department dispatched a rescue team and vehicle to a traffic collision involving two cars. Rescue tools were used to free one person from a vehicle, while two other individuals from the second vehicle managed to exit before firefighters arrived.
