Works to upgrade the pavements on Evagorou avenue are set to begin on April 2 and are expected to last till the end of the year.

The Nicosia municipality said on Thursday that the works would be carried out in two phases and the whole project would take about eight months to complete, during which traffic along Evagorou avenue will be using just two lanes.

Pavements will be replaced from the Evagorou-Stasinou-Omirou junction till the Evagorou-Themistocli Dervi-Diagorou junction.

The first phase will see improvements to the west pavement and one lane and the second phase to the east pavement and one lane.

The project includes removing existing pavements, building a rainwater drainage system, upgrading the water supply and telecommunication networks and revising traffic and signs.
