On March 28, 2025, Grandmother’s Day, a press conference was held to mark Alambra Dairy’s eighth consecutive “My grandmother… thank you” campaign.

The campaign, carried out over the years with the valuable cooperation of Alphamega Hypermarkets, is part of Alambra Dairy’s Corporate Social Responsibility programme, paying tribute to the Cypriot grandmother. To date, with the contribution of the public, the two partners have contributed €35,000 to associations and centres for the elderly.

This year’s campaign, running March 20-April 23, 2025, aims to support the work of the Nicosia Multipurpose Municipal Centre, and in particular its Senior Citizens’ Home. To this end, part of the proceeds from sales of Alambra’s “Grandmother” dairy products at Alphamega stores will be used to purchase important equipment for the Centre and its guests.

Speaking at the campaign’s press conference Michael Petrou, Commercial Manager at Petrou Bros Dairy Products Ltd, which owns the Alambra Dairy line, referenced the crucial contribution of “Granny Kakoullou”, a trademark of the Company and a key figure in the history and development of the island’s dairy industry. He also spoke on the invaluable social role played by grandparents and the family.

On behalf of Alphamega, Chief Communications and CSR Officer Natasa Constantinidou, referred to the hypermarket chain’s firm commitment to continuous contribution via initiatives fostering social empathy and inclusion. She called on consumers to support the objectives of the campaign, describing it as a gesture of love and gratitude to grandparents who had offered so much to their families and country.

The conference was also attended by Nicosia Mayor and Nicosia Multipurpose Municipal Centre President Charalambos Prountzos, who spoke on the vision and work of the Senior Citizens’ Home, where 24-hour, holistic care and protection are provided to those aged 65+. Mayor Prountzos also referred to the objectives of the campaign, thanking the two partners for their initiative.

The coordination of the press conference, which took place at the University of Nicosia’s UNESCO Amphitheatre, was undertaken by Anastasia Natsika, Brand Manager at Petrou Bros Dairy Products.
