Despite the unexpected instabilities of the weather, the power of contribution and collective effort were much stronger, assuring the success of i-Fitness Day 2025. The event drew even greater participation than last year, and a warm response from the public, contributing significantly to the charitable cause of TELETHON Cyprus. Held on April 13, 2025 at the Agios Dometios Primary School in Nicosia, i-Fitness Day gathered young and old, combining physical activity with giving back.
The event was held under the auspices of the First Lady Philippa Karsera Christodoulides, who congratulated event participants and praised the work of the charitable institution. Also in attendance was President of EDEK, Marinos Sizopoulos, Interior Minister Constantinos Ioannou, the wife of President of DIKO, Nicolas Papadopoulos, Yiota Papadopoulou, Telethon Committee Chair Marianna Tsappi-Leptou, the Ambassadors of the institution, Polly Hadjigeorgiou and Isabella Ellina, and Andrey and Julia Dashin, whose Foundation was the main sponsor of the event.
Visitors had the chance to take part in a rich programme of fitness sessions, offered by specialised trainers, strengthening body and heart – literally and figuratively.
The initiator of i-Fitness Day, Gymnast and Karate Teacher George Efthymiou, hailed the social dimension of the occasion. “i-Fitness Day started as an idea to bring people closer to exercise and giving back. The fact that it is becoming an institution and bringing so many people together for a good cause gives me the strength to continue with even more passion,” he said.
Similarly, TELETHON Committee Chair Leptou referenced the importance of social contribution. “TELETHON is a bridge of life and events like i-Fitness Day show that, when society joins forces, it can provide meaningful help to those in need,” she noted.
In his own address, Foundation Co-founder Andrey Dashin remarked that the Andrey & Julia Dashin’ Foundation had supported TELETHON for several years, and that he felt especially satisfied with the charity’s contribution to Cypriot society.
Proceeds from the sale of i-Fitness Day tickets were entirely donated to TELETHON Cyprus, which supports the research work of the Cyprus Institute of Neurology & Genetics and the Cyprus Myopathy Association.
The power of giving, the joy of exercise and the hope for a better tomorrow converged once more at iFitness Day 2025, where ‘the heart spoke’ again this year. The main sponsor of TELETHON is OPAP Cyprus. The main sponsor of i-Fitness Day 2025 was Andrey & Julia Dashin’s Foundation, and main supporters were Vittel water, Famous Sports stores and MCM Digital Prints. The communication sponsor was Alpha Cyprus.
