Attorney-general George Savvides on Thursday met China’s Deputy Justice Minister Wang Yuwen.
According to the Cypriot government, the pair “exchanged views on the state of laws, the organisation, and the mechanisms related to the fight against corruption in both China and in Cyprus”.
The government also said the meeting was “particularly constructive”, and that it “expanded on issues of global and bilateral cooperation”.
Additionally, discussions surrounding the various bodies and mechanisms each country has in its toolbox to deal with corruption in the public sector were held, while the pair also discussed “ways of improving and resolving various issues”.
Savvides and Wang both described the meeting as “particularly useful in the exchange of information and best practices on issues of common interest”.
