A 40-year-old man suffered “serious injuries” after being involved in a head-on road traffic collision in the Paphos district, late on Wednesday night, the police said on Thursday.

According to the police, the man was driving from the village of Mesogi towards the village of Tsada, when his car collided head on with a car being driven by a 22-year-old man.

Both were taken to the Paphos general hospital. The 22-year-old received first aid and was discharged, while the 40-year-old remains in hospital.

Additionally, both drivers underwent alcohol tests, and were both found not to have consumed any alcohol before driving.

The police’s investigation into the matter is ongoing.
