A parked car was severely damaged after it went up in flames just before midnight in Strovolos, the fire service confirmed on Tuesday.
The incident occurred in an open-air parking area of a residential block. The fire broke out at around 11.56pm and quickly engulfed the vehicle.
Fire service spokesman Andreas Kettis confirmed in a post on the social media platform X that crews from Nicosia responded with two fire engines.
The blaze caused extensive damage to both the engine and passenger areas of the vehicle. Firefighters managed to extinguish the fire using water hoses and breathing apparatuses.
No injuries were reported and investigations into the cause of the fire are set to begin on Tuesday in cooperation with the police.
In a separate update, Kettis said the fire service dealt with 29 incidents in the last 24 hours. Of those, 17 were fires and 12 involved other emergency assistance.
