Resurfacing work and rubbish collection will close sections of the highway on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights, the department of public works said on Sunday.

From Monday to Wednesday resurfacing works will be carried out on the Nicosia-Limassol highway in the direction of Limassol, near the exit for Larnaca. The works will be carried out from 8pm to 5.30 the next morning.

During the works, all three lanes towards Limassol will be closed and traffic will be diverted to one lane on the opposite side of the road, which will operate as two-way traffic.

The exit for Larnaca will be closed and drivers will have to use the next exit, for Alambra.

Drivers are called on the follow the signs.

Also on Monday from 9pm until 3am the following morning, on the Nicosia-Limassol highway between Governor’s Bay and Yermasoyia, rubbish collection works will be carried out along the central reservation.

During the works one lane of the highway will be closed and traffic will be directed to a single lane.

The department of public works apologises for the inevitable inconvenience and called on the public to demonstrate the necessary understanding and comply with road signs.
