3650 Steps. That is the title of the new exhibition opening shortly at Gloria Gallery in Nicosia, presenting works by the artist Katerina Xenophontos. At the opening event on May 20, Dr Giorgos Kentas will introduce the exhibition’s focus and speak about the artist as visitors arrive at 7.30pm.

3650 Steps invites the public into a visual dialogue where painting and printmaking meet plexiglass compositions, creating new narratives of light and transparency. The exhibition’s pieces aim to make art a path leading from past to present, from memory to creation. Each step holds a story; each piece draws inspiration from symbolic objects — carriers of historical references and traditional wisdom.

The artist’s technique developed along this journey balances between painting and printmaking, merging the immediacy of the former with the subtlety of the latter. In this synthesis, plexiglass is not just a surface; it becomes a medium of transparent memory, where light passes through matter and reveals hidden narratives.

The works in the exhibition seem to hover between then and now, crafting a landscape that invites the viewer to reflect on the passage of time through 3650 steps — a journey filled with traces, moments, and dreams.
