A Musical Promenade is happening for the third consecutive year this weekend, filling the village of Vavla with music and visitors. The village’s community, with just 50 residents, organise the event this Saturday, inviting the public to enjoy a series of live music performances scattered around the village.

Upon arrival, visitors will receive a map that will guide them through the village’s stone-paved streets. By following the designated paths, visitors can experience intimate performances in traditional houses, courtyards and other locations.

This year, the music line-up includes performances by the local musicians Alexis Sunder, Androula, the Byzantine Choir Cosmas o Melodos, Cemre Arca and Hayat Sebep, Gaba Project, To Kalesma, Kazandibi, Leftokaria, Mande Drummers and Pelva Naik.

The afternoon event will kick off at 5pm and it is not just music that will fill the air. The village’s former school will transform into an art gallery as it hosts an exhibition with works by the local painters Pascalis Anastasi, Carolina Souss and Konstantinos Kyrtis.

Of course, in true Cypriot fashion the event will also include local products, homemade food and drinks for sale. The bar will be manned by the popular Nicosia coffee shop Prozak which will be making refreshing cocktails and drinks. Best of all, the entrance to the entirety of the event is free of charge.
