The Pancyprian Organisation of the Blind earned second place at the “Euro Low-Vision 2025” (ILSC) international song contest, held in Berlin on Friday.
The Cypriot entry titled “Compass” was performed by members Nicoletta Livadioti and Nikos Demetriou with lyrics written by Panayiotis Petsas and music composed by Christakis Iakovos – both of whom are also Organisation of the Blind members.
“Compass” ranked second after Greece, whose entry “Will I Sing? As Long As I Live,” performed by Katholiki and Dimitris Tharenos, won the contest among 25 other entries from national organisations for blind people,
“Euro Low-Vision” is a music contest for blind and partially sighted artist aiming to provide a platform for blind and visually impaired musicians to share their work and talent, this year it included a live audience for the first time.
