Police arrested a 23-year-old man in Limassol for presenting false documents to officers while driving in the early hours on Monday.

Officers stopped the suspect’s vehicle for a routine check at 1am, whereupon he presented documents, including asylum paperwork from the Pournara reception centre, which police established as belonging to someone else.

The man was arrested for impersonation and possession of burglary tools, found in the car.

Furthermore, it was found that the 23-year-old was driving without a driver’s licence and insurance.

Limassol CID is furthering the investigation.
