As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives and its ongoing support in the fight against breast cancer, Pilakoutas Group is once again partnering with Europa Donna Cyprus, serving as the gold sponsor of “Race for the Cure Cyprus 2025”.
At a press conference held at Char. Pilakoutas Heritage, this year’s Race, Europe’s largest sporting event dedicated to women’s health, was announced. The 2025 event’s message is: “with every step we support each other!” and aims to raise awareness and inform the public about breast cancer, while highlighting the importance of prevention and early diagnosis.
In her address, Klelia Pilakouta Christoforou, Head of Business Development at Pilakoutas Group, noted that, for the past 10 years, the Group has actively supported the invaluable work of Europa Donna Cyprus. “This year, Pilakoutas Group is not merely supporting the Race for the Cure event. We are supporting a culture of participation and active social responsibility,” she said.
“That is why, on May 25th, we will become runners for a cause that concerns us all – without exception. We are together on every path of this journey, one that is driven by a unique combination of strength, hope and love,” she continued.
“This is a race not about statistics and numbers, but about people: women and men, mothers, daughters, sisters, friends. So let us continue this shared struggle with determination and strength – because only together can we win. And the prize is life itself.”

Marios Charalambides, Executive Director of Europa Donna Cyprus, noted that Race for the Cure is one of the organisation’s flagship initiatives and that Pilakoutas Group has stood by its side for the fifth consecutive year, ever since Europa Donna Cyprus first undertook the event’s organisation. He warmly thanked the Group for its significant and enduring support.
He also emphasised the role of physical exercise as a key means of primary cancer prevention, touching on the multiple messages of support and hope sent through this initiative, as well as its broad contribution to the fight against breast cancer.
In closing, Executive Director Charalambides extended sincere thanks to the event’s other sponsors and supporters, the outstanding and tireless Europa Donna Cyprus team for their continued and meaningful efforts in fulfilling the organisation’s diverse mission, and to DELEMA McCANN, a steadfast ally.
Race for the Cure takes place in 150 cities across the globe, attracting over one million participants and reinforcing the message of prevention and solidarity. It is the world’s largest sporting event focused on breast cancer awareness and serves as a celebration of courage, hope, strength and life.
