Cyprus loves its theatre, and thankfully, plenty of productions are on and even more travel to the island for exclusive shows. The majority of them are, as expected, in Greek, and some occasionally appear in English and Russian. As June arrives, a production in English will land in Nicosia for just two nights.

The Women Empowerment Theatre will bring to the stage of Theatro Dentro, The Decorator – a sharp, heartfelt comedy about two women who believe they are polar opposites, only to discover a deep bond forged by shared experiences as immigrants and children of war. Through laughter and touching revelations, they find common ground in unexpected places.

The Decorator is written by local Cypriot author Natasha Tavoujkian, who will premiere in this original production. You can expect a blend of humour, emotion and powerful storytelling. Two shows are scheduled for June 5 and 6, and they will include something more. A bonus short play featuring emerging local talent and celebrating youth, friendship and resilience will also be presented, enriching the evenings.
