A weak low-pressure system is affecting Cyprus, bringing dust in the atmosphere and a mix of clear skies and local cloud cover.
On Tuesday the weather will remain mostly clear. However, at times, increased local cloud is expected, especially in some areas. Dust will be present in the air but is forecast to ease soon.
Winds will blow mainly from the southwest to northwest, light to moderate at 3 to 4 on the Beaufort scale. Along the coast, winds will reach moderate to strong levels, at 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will range from slight to moderate, with some areas becoming rougher. Temperatures are set to climb to 32C inland, around 27C on the coast, and 23C in the higher mountains.
On Tuesday night, skies will stay mostly clear, though patches of low cloud are expected in some areas. Light fog or mist may form locally, mainly during the early morning hours. Winds will shift from northwest to northeast, remaining light at 3 Beaufort, and occasionally moderate near the coast. The sea will stay slightly to moderately rough. Overnight temperatures will fall to around 18C inland and on the coast, and 12C in the mountains.
From Wednesday through Friday, skies will become cloudier at times. Isolated showers are expected around midday and early afternoon. On Thursday and Friday, a local thunderstorm cannot be ruled out, especially in the interior and mountainous regions. Temperatures are not expected to change significantly over the coming days, remaining close to the seasonal average.
