Trikoupi Street is set to open for traffic on Friday after works on its southernmost section towards the ‘OXI’ roundabout have been completed, the municipality of Nicosia announced on Wednesday.
“As part of the permanent traffic regulations that are implemented upon the completion of this project, a one-way reversal will be implemented on Ayios Savvas street, which will now have a direction from the intersection with Thrakis street to the intersection with Aeschylou street,” the municipality added.
According to the municipality, Trikoupi Street will be one-way, heading towards the northern part of the walled city.
Works on the project began in March 2024 and were initially expected to take eight months and be completed in January, they were later delayed to mid-April and will now finally be completed with a six-month delay.
