An evening of brilliance awaits classical music lovers as the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra presents the Young Pianists Gala Concert and Competition Finals, the glittering finale of the Chopin in Cyprus festival. Taking place on June 13 at Pallas Theatre in Nicosia, the concert brings together rising stars, masterful repertoire and world-class direction.
Under the baton of acclaimed conductor Charles Olivieri-Munroe, two exceptional young pianist finalists of the international concerto competition will perform Chopin’s beloved Piano Concertos No. 1 and 2. One of them will be crowned the winner at the end of the night, but both are sure to dazzle audiences with passion and precision.
The programme opens with Mozart’s spirited Marriage of Figaro overture and includes Invocatio, a contemporary string work by John Baron Schott, before diving into the heart of the evening – Chopin’s romantic masterpieces, delivered with youthful flair.
Part of the international festival organised by the Nashville International Chopin Piano Competition and supported by the Mediterranean Performing Arts Festival and Fortepiano LTD Cyprus, the gala celebrates not only Chopin’s enduring legacy but also the future of classical music.
This event promises to be more than a competition – it’s a celebration of talent, dedication and the timeless power of music.
