Paphos police on Thursday arrested a 58-year-old man in connection with an attempted murder that took place on November 19 in Konia.
The suspect was taken into custody to assist with ongoing investigations.
The victim, a 26-year-old Greek Cypriot man, is in critical condition at a private hospital in Limassol. Police said the attack is believed to have stemmed from a dispute between the two.
The incident occurred at around 6.15 pm outside a kiosk. The victim initially received treatment at the accident and emergency department of Paphos general hospital. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was transferred by ambulance around 9pm to the private hospital in Limassol.
Police said the man was attacked with a knife, sustaining multiple wounds to different parts of his body. After the assault, the suspect fled the scene.
